What are the main tasks that make up your daily work routine?
As a project manager, I oversee different projects from planning to implementation, and supervise them up through project handover. I coordinate the different participants, ensure that schedules are adhered to and that the project remains within the predetermined budget. I monitor progress over the course of the project, detect challenges early on and develop solutions to guarantee a smooth workflow. My goal is to implement every project efficiently and successfully in order to meet the expectations of all parties involved.
How do you handle unanticipated challenges during project implementation?
When there are unanticipated challenges you have to keep a cool head and be flexible. The first thing I do is step back and expand my point of view to get a better idea of what impact the problem has on the project as a whole. Then I carefully analyse the situation and determine the best possible next steps in a structured way. Then, at a later point, it’s time to find out why this situation occurred and how it can be prevented early on next time.
How do you find inspiration for new projects?
While traveling, the ideas always flow and I get to know new perspectives and needs. I stay inspired in everyday life by going through the world with open eyes and ears. I am also always getting new ideas and inspiration from talking with other experts and doing online research.
What do you need at your work station at all times?
A bottle of water and a muesli bar. If my thoughts ever start to stagnate, these two things usually do the trick to get the juices flowing again.
What makes a place a home for you?
Home is a place where I feel comfortable and secure. It is my own personal refuge, but also the place where I can spend time with the people who are important to me. My home gives me structure and freedom at the same time. For me, a home is a place where you can be yourself.
