What are the main tasks that make up your daily work routine?
On my team I transform interior concepts into detailed technical plans and try to find imaginative solutions. And all the while there is an ongoing exchange with project managers.
How do you find inspiration for new projects?
I mostly get inspired while traveling and when discovering new places. Books and magazines are also an added source of inspiration. Making a collage here and there is also a great way to find new ideas.
What do you need at your work station at all times?
There is no way my can do without a notebook at my work station because I write down all the things I have to do there. A glass of water and my headphones also need to be there at all times. Now there is also a plant next to my computer, which makes my work station a bit more beautiful.
What will the world of architecture/interior architecture look like in 2035? What things have changed significantly and how?
I think that the previous studies on sustainable materials and 3D printing will have a big influence on the field of architecture in the year 2035. I imagine that there will be new complex shapes in façade design and interiors. They give buildings and rooms and a sort of aesthetic and unique character that had been impossible until now. What’s more, I think that organic materials such as Mycel, which is made of mushrooms, or self-regenerating materials will be available in 2035. I believe there will be furniture made from mushrooms and façades that can repair themselves.
How do you relax after a long day at work?
To clear my head I do sport and afterwards I watch a film or read a good book.
