What are the main tasks that make up your daily work routine?
My daily routine involves working closely with the project managers on the planning and coordination of our projects. In the process I use my planning skills to develop creative and efficient solutions. At the same time supervising our apprentices during their training is another matter that is near and dear to my heart. I love to help them in any way I can so they can achieve their goals and successfully pass their final examination.
What has been the strongest influence on your perspective of design/interior architecture/architecture? Why?
Ever since I became more interested in the history of humankind, I see architecture and design with different eyes. For me, it’s not just about the part of a building or object that we can see, but the era and cultural values that are expressed in it. In my opinion, architecture and design are living witnesses of their origins, which reflect the developments of their time. This perspective allows me to take in every detail with a whole new depth.
How do you find inspiration for new projects?
I let myself be strongly guided by visual impressions. If something piques my interest, it stays in my head for a long time and germinates into new ideas. My teammates are also a constant source of inspiration. Their creativity and our work together motivate me time and time again. I also find inspiration in magazines, from artists and on social media, especially if I’m looking for something specific. This mix of individual impressions and communicating with others gets my creative juices flowing.
What will the world of architecture/interior architecture look like in 2035? What things have changed significantly and how?
In 2035 architecture and interior architecture will be more sustainable. There will be an increased use of environmentally friendly materials and energy-efficient construction methods. Buildings will be designed to consume as few resources as possible and blend in well with their surroundings. Technology such as smart systems that optimise energy use will play a key role here. Interiors will also be designed in to be more flexible in order to meet the needs of the users, with sustainability always being prioritised.
What makes a place a home for you?
For me a home is a place where I feel comfortable and safe. It exudes warmth and is a place of refuge that reflects my personality and responds to my needs. But above all, for me home means family, peace and a feeling of security.
